Sanctification

What is Sanctification?

After you have gone through all the teachings and deliverance, it is time to apply truth in your everyday life. This application process is called Walk-Out. This is applying God's word. You see, issues will come up, and challenges will knock at your door.

You first apply the 8rs by recognizing your thoughts (what is happening now). Yes, thoughts and behaviors can be changed. Psychologists say that it takes weeks, or even months, to break a habit. Give God a little time to work on you. This is by RENEWING of the MIND with the WORD OF GOD.

Walk-out is simply the process of renewing your mind by giving your mind to God's thoughts and letting go of your fleshly thoughts. You must walk away from those old, instilled habits. You must walk out of old, ungodly ways of thinking and into new, godly ones.

You are not alone

Not all of us indeed live in a perfect, Normal Rockwell family. The more stressed and hurried your life may be, the more you must employ these simple steps. Your world may not seem quite as safe and supportive as you would want it to be. That's okay. You may now find yourself on your own in your beliefs and have no one who understands the new things you've just learned. That is normal! You may ask yourself, "How will I ever do this alone?" One, you are not alone. You have the holy spirit in you to guide you in all truth.

Give Yourself Time

This is not a quick fix, but it is for the long haul! As you walk out, you will replace wrong thoughts, behaviors, and habits with godly ones. It may take weeks, or even months, to firmly establish new habits—new means. As you appropriate your freedom day by day, your obedience will create new long-term memory patterns of righteous behavior.

Remember to get your self-worth from God and his Word, not from others and their evaluations.

Take Every Thought Captive

How does one handle ungodly thoughts such as doubt, unbelief, self-hatred, addictions, or behaviors? By holding every thought captive.

1. Recognize the thought for what it is - temptation. It takes 7 steps to sin.
2. Temptation is not a sin; it is only Satan's kingdom checking you out.

3. Take that thought captive and cast it out of your mind before it becomes your sin.

When does it become a sin? When it takes you into action - anger, isolation, silent treatment, self-pity, etc.

Why is it a sin when a man lusts because there is usually already arousal, which is an action?

For Example, if Someone throws fiery darts at you because of your child-rearing skills, you are immediately tempted to get angry and throw some fiery darts back at them. You could be tempted to take offense and feel rejected. You could feel guilty and ashamed. You could get into strife with the other person. Thus, you now have a decision to make.

You can say to yourself: "I know this is you tempting me, Satan. That is discernment from the Lord. God's word says that I should not sin in my anger. I won't go there anymore! I know that the bible says I should cast down any imagination that does not agree with God's word." 2 Corinthians 10:5.
